I am still here and life has been busy! Preparing for my April art show is taking most of my free time at the moment, which is in the main gallery at ArtPoint this time. I am painting up a storm in order to fill the walls there, for my opening on April 9, 2010.
It takes courage to step out of the comfort zone and create from a new place. That is partly what my April show is about. The other par

A month goes by fast! With my show in the final week; I am already planning a larger show for the main gallery at ArtPoint in April 2010. There is still time to view the current show this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
In the meantime I decided to loosen up and do a bit of fun stuff, while I hold the energy for what is to come. The colour in this landscape are not showing up well here at all

Painting Story

A story, our story, the story of a painting. And then there is the question of ending. What is the best sort of finish? Have I said all I want to say? Save something for the next painting ... perhaps.

I couldn't possibly get away with not showing flowers. This one will be at ArtPoint for the Nov. 6 Opening through Nov. 28.
I suppose it is right on time for Remembrance Day.
However I have named this one 'Silk'; Acrylic on Canvas 24 X 24.
Pretty much every red pigment was used in the painting of this poppy. On

Late Summer Light
20 Sep 2009 at 6:06 pm
Saturday was a lovely day to go to Nosehill Park and capture the sunset. I needed to blow some cobwebs out of my head, and so off with camera in hand I went. The light was so interesting and follow the light is just what I did. Wouldn't you know, when the time came to depart-I realized I was on the wrong side of the ravine. I hadn't even realized how far I had travelled.

I Adore Hollyhocks
17 Aug 2009 at 1:03 pm
Well yesterday it was time to get busy. Outdoors in August, as you can see I need a sweater. Brrrr ... I am still waiting for my hollyhocks to bloom. And frankly they look too frightened to come out of their coverings!
A chill has settled into the air. The day before I in the yard with the cats, wearing my down-filled jacket, whilst they ran around in their little fur coats. Even the birds have

Sunday Concert in the Park

This was the stage I playing on this past Sunday right in the heart of Mount Royal on the Red Mile, where the heartbeat of Calgary lives.
Unfortunately no shots of me playing. I did one set on guitar and one on keyboard. A very relaxed enjoyable experience with a receptive audience.
The weather held up but if not, I still would have been fine in this lovely gazebo!

Summery Summary
5 Aug 2009 at 2:21 am
Solstice came and went with a coolness to the day and cloudy skies. A shock of light wove between clouds like a ribbon.
The enlivened aroma of fresh lilacs after the rain blended took to the high tones of the air with the lily of the valley holding the velvet centre, soft winds caressing.
This post was meant to come out in June, yet June is but a memory, it's rustling cool winds made way for

Lilacs and Snow in June

The Lilac Fest was where I survived my virgin voyage as a busker, though I didn't get rich, I am richer for the experience. Estimated attendance was 100,000 to 150,000, and it was impossible to find my friend who was lost somewhere in the sea of people.

Spring This Year
29 Apr 2009 at 1:32 am
As I write this the snow is gently falling ... oh can it be over soon? Spring is reluctant this year. Yet the birds bravely carry on, building nests and making preparations for their young. Yes I am trying to be like the birds and go with the flow.

I apologize in advance to any vegetarians who may be reading this. This gorgeous bouquet is from friends and certainly brightens up my dining room. How lucky and fortunate I am!

Plan B
28 Mar 2009 at 1:06 amTime stands still. Blessed dreams lie sleeping, their soft breath rhythmically rising and falling. The prominence of Orion's belt overpowers the other constellations stimulating my curiosity.

Abstractions
8 Mar 2009 at 7:52 pmLast night in the throes of one of Calgary famous March blizzards, I stayed cosy by the fire resting with the cats. The yard has filled up with white, and the north side of trees and buildings are now lined with sticky snow. There was much shoveling to do today and now the wind is beginning to pick up.

One of my most recent fancies is digital art, so I am experimenting with Photoshop. Photoshop has a bit of a learning curve, and this is something I created. It's similarity in this case to watercolor is uncanny. I tried a test print and it looks quite good. Just as soon as I find the best kind of paper to print on, then I will be able to offer prints of my digital work. My eventual plan is to c
