More to Me

I am a Canadian but I live in a tiny fishing village on the English coast. I originally moved to England to waitress, then to teach high school, and then I fell in love with an Englishman. Now I live with him. He's an artist and I am a writer, and we are living in a small flat by the sea. I am writing books, he is painting, and together we are creating an amazing website that we hope will help other people get to know themselves better. I hope you will come back often to see how it and we are getting on.

Colleen's Corner

While sipping a cup of tea, a good friend turned to me with a questioning look in her eyes and said, “Blogging.. I just don’t get it.”

I fumbled trying to adequately respond and justify my blogging experience. I found it difficult to explain the appeal. Since then, I have given this conversation quite a bit of thought.

The Cubicle Reverend

One of God's office supplies.
I have tried college on 3 seperate occassions and am about to make it a fourth. For too many years I have been hiding in cubicles planning my great escape by tunnelling beneath and disguising myself as an everyday citizen in a three piece suit. I'm a would be poet, a failed comedian, and a wannabe philosopher. But I am perfectly content being a cubicle reverend.

Be Present, Be Here

The Buddha says, "Praise and blame, gain and loss, pleasure and sorrow come and go like the wind. To be happy, rest like a giant tree in the midst of them all." Walking this tight rope called life learning to balance and look down to see if the net is there yet...

Sticking to the point

My darling girl, when are you going to understand that normal isn't a virtue? It rather denotes a lack of courage. Part-time acupuncturist and SAH mama with a burning desire to remain myself in the midst of suburban life.

Michelle Fry's Verbal Blog

I'm a vegetarian, a runner, a writer, a liberal, and a pantheist. I try to live my life according to my favorite line of poetry from Mary Oliver's poem October: "Look, I want to love this world as though it's the last chance I'm ever going to get to be alive and know it."
